Playlist Search: Let Users ‘Search & Play’ Every Word in Your Video Library

  • Playlist Search: Let Users 'Search & Play' Every Word in Your Video Library

If you maintain a large video library, conducting a keyword search normally limits your users to the video’s title, tags, and description.

But with our latest add-on module, Playlist Search, users can search across an entire video library and jump directly to the keyword they are looking for in any video.

The many benefits of adding Playlist Search to your video library include:

    • Higher Engagement: Users will be encouraged to watch more videos on your webpage that contain a desired search term
    • Longer Page Sessions: Users can keyword search across all of your videos without leaving the webpage
    • Instant Gratification: Keyword searches will immediately bring users to relevant segments in your video library
    • Greater Efficiency: Less time spent manually searching for videos, segments, and topics of interest

    How It Works

If someone wants to see if a certain word or phrase appears in any of your transcribed videos, all they need to do is enter that term into the search bar.

Every video in your library containing that term will then populate beneath. The user can then choose a result from the list and the video player will start playback from right where that search term is spoken in the video.

    It’s a 3-for-1 Deal

Activating the Playlist Search module will render your video player, interactive transcript, and searchable playlist on your webpage.

The GIF below demonstrates the ease with which users can access and keyword search all of the audio in a video library using the Playlist Search module on MIT’s Infinite History website.
