3Play Media To Present Accessibility Solutions At Fifth Annual Open Education Conference
Will participate in OpenCourseWare Consortium’s Accessibility Roundtable and demonstrate web-based platform
Somerville, Mass. – September 4, 2008 – 3Play Media, a leading provider of cost-effective accessibility solutions, today announced that they will participate in the Open Education Conference at the Utah State University campus in Logan, Utah scheduled for September 22-26, 2008. The OpenCourseWare Consortium, a collaboration of over 200 online educational institutions, invited representatives from 3Play Media to play a prominent role in an interactive discussion on web accessibility.
“Accessibility is a hot topic,” noted 3Play co-founder, Chris Johnson. “There is no single right way to become accessible, and with new forms of media being used, it can get confusing,” he added. The Consortium will be relying on 3Play Media’s experience building end-to-end solutions for the education market. Johnson noted, “We got started with an OpenCourseWare Consortium pioneer in MIT, so we’re excited to share lessons learned and hear about how other universities are tackling similar issues.” The Roundtable will focus on tools available today as well as a brainstorm on proposed standards for online content publication.
3Play Media will also show its innovative approach to video captioning during a conference demonstration session on the Thursday of the Conference. 3Play’s robust web-based Content Management System (CMS) was originally built for the education market and provides a streamlined workflow for administrators. The CMS provides an end-to-end solution for multimedia transcription, captioning, content management, and search.
