Next, specify the turnaround time and transcription settings. In particular, make sure you select the appropriate speaker identification settings. As soon as your files are uploaded, the transcription and captioning process will begin. If you already have transcripts, choose Alignment Only. This is a faster and less expensive way to create captions and interactive video plug-ins.
From the My Files page, you can monitor the job status, organize your files, and download a multitude of captions and transcript formats. You also have the option to create translations and multilingual subtitles from English into many languages.
Note that by default, your transcripts, captions, and subtitles are stored in your account indefinitely. And you can access them at any time. Although rarely necessary, your account lets you view, edit, and make redactions to your captions and transcripts after they’ve been processed. Your edits propagate to all output files, and there’s no need to reprocess.
If your videos will be published on a website, your account provides the resources to install an interactive transcript and other plug-ins that make your video accessible, searchable, more engaging, and SEO friendly. The captions plug-in allows you to add captions to almost any video player, including Vimeo, which doesn’t natively support captions.
For market researchers, video producers, and editors, your account includes the Clipmaker tool, which lets you search across your videos and create clips by cutting and pasting the spoken text.
