Translation Services

Overview

Once your English content has been transcribed, we can translate it into a number of languages. Through our translation partner, Lingo Systems, we have one of the largest networks of language service providers in the industry. All of our linguists are native speakers of the target language and many have discipline-specific expertise. With over 5,500 linguists at our disposal, we are capable of handling any size or type of project.

Best of all, our translation services are seamlessly integrated with our transcription services and interactive tools. That means that you can download transcripts, closed captions, and subtitles in translated languages as well as continue to use the interactive transcript, archive search, and clipping functionalities the same way as with English.

Our Linguists

All of our translators, copy-editors, and proofreaders are native speakers, and most are located in their native (target language) countries. Every linguist is also a full-time professional with at least five years of translation experience. Unlike many firms, we do not use part-timers, college students, or the cheapest resource we can find. Every linguist must pass a competency test that evaluates subject matter comprehension, accuracy of technical terminology, consistency of terminology, syntax, and writing style. Although not a requirement, most of our linguists have advanced degrees in a relevant field and are members of the ATA (American Translators Association).

Translation Process & Quality Management

Delivering the highest quality translation is of paramount importance to our customers and to us. We have developed a process that enables us to consistently produce translations that read as if they were originally crafted in the target language. To ensure linguistic accuracy and consistency, our process includes three separate linguistic steps. In addition to the normal translate and copy edit steps, we also perform a third proofreading step, which serves as an independent linguistic review of the target language deliverable. This extra step accomplishes two objectives: (1) ensures that the translated text stands on its own without reference to the English content, and (2) identifies any latent translation defects (spelling, grammar, and consistency). Each step is completed by a different native-quality linguist who has subject matter expertise.

We also offer a cost-saving two-step process for appropriate projects where proofreading is not required.

Languages

Currently we translate from English to Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Arabic, and Korean. Other languages can be accommodated upon request.

Price

Price depends on the target language and is on a per-minute basis. There are no minimums. Please contact us for more information.

We provide a 100% guarantee on all our work. If you are dissatisfied for any reason, we will work with you to incorporate your feedback on specific terminology or preferred style. Our policy is to redo the work immediately. Any errors on our part will be corrected at no charge.
