Get the Most out of Echo360 ALP: Add the 3Play Media Captioning Integration
Updated: January 4, 2018
The Echo360 Active Learning Platform (ALP) is a professor’s best friend when it comes to managing student assignments and sharing engaging video content with a class.
But transcribing that video content can take up lots of time and effort that most professors would prefer to spend on their students. Luckily, that’s where we come in!
3Play Media’s round trip integration with Echo360’s ALP completely automates the process of closed captioning, subtitling, and transcribing your video files.
And because 3Play Media guarantees over 99% accuracy, students, professors, and administrators will all benefit from a simplified captioning process that is both extremely convenient and high-quality.
Super Simple Setup
To automate the captioning process in Echo360 ALP, turn on 3Play Media’s captioning integration by following these quick and easy instructions:
Step 1 – Retrieve the 3Play Media API Credentials
First, click on the Upload Media page in your 3Play Media account. Then click the Linked Account Menu and select Add New Linked Account from the list.
From the pop-up window, click the Echo360 Active Learning Linked Account button.
A page like the one below will appear showing both an API Key and an API Secret Key. Copy your API Key & API Secret Key to your clipboard.
Step 2 – Enter API Credentials in Echo Active Learning
In another window, sign in to your Echo360 Active Learning account. Click the gear icon in the top right corner and select Configurations.
Once on the Configurations page, click Closed Captioning in the left-hand panel and select 3Play Media from the Captioning Provider dropdown list. Enter the API Key and API Secret you retrieved from Step 1, select a preferred turnaround time, and click Save.
Step 3 – Begin Ordering Captions
Congrats! You can now order captions, subtitles, and transcripts from Echo360 ALP with the click of a button.
To send an echo or any video file along for captioning, simply enter your Echo360 ALP account, click on your desired video file, and view the Info Tab. In the right grey pane, next to Captions, click Addand it will begin processing.
After the captions have completed, they will post directly back to Echo360 ALP and appear on your video.
