Get to Know the Speakers for ACCESS at Home

ACCESS at Home is just two weeks away!
ACCESS at Home was created to give you the tools to confidently navigate a virtual environment. Each session is focused on a different challenge that we are all facing as we shift our communications online due to COVID-19.
We have an amazing lineup of speakers, are you ready to meet them?
Thomas J. Tobin, PhD, MSLS, PMP, MOT, CPACC is the Program Area Director for Distance Teaching
Learning on the Learning Design, Development, & Innovation (LDDI) team at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison, as well as an internationally recognized speaker and author on quality in technology-enhanced education.
His books include:
- Evaluating Online Teaching: Implementing Best Practices (2015).
- The Copyright Ninja: Rise of the Ninja (2017).
- Reach Everyone, Teach Everyone: Universal Design for Learning in Higher Education (2018).
- Going Alt-Ac: A Guide to Alternative Academic Careers (2020).
Michele Landis is an accessibility industry leader and ADA policy strategist. She is also the co-founder and CRO of Accessible360, a court-certified digital accessibility auditing firm and leader in user accessibility testing.
Chris Lavigne is the Head of Production at Wistia. He has dubbed the lighting technique, “lighting on the fly” and has proven that it’s not so much about the camera as it is the concept and basic techniques. Chris thrives on using creativity to work around constraints (think video for boring industries) and showing others how to ‘get loose’. When he’s not camera-in-hand, you can find him behind the wheel of a backhoe, snuggling with his dog Lenny, or reciting lines from Jurassic Park.
Tim Springer is the CEO and founder of Level Access, a leader in digital accessibility software, services, and training. Tim advises many large public and private sector organizations including the Social Security Administration, HP and Wells Fargo Bank, on the technical challenges and best practices required to successfully achieve accessibility.
Justin Romack is an Assistive Technology Coordinator at Texas A&M. He’s also a storyteller and creative, accessibility professional and drummer and percussionist, Justin stays busy tinkering with words, wrangling code and making thunderous, percussive sounds any time he can.
Jason Taylor is the Chief Strategist at ISL and Advisor to the UsableNet CEO with 20 years of experience in usability and accessibility. He is a global technology thought leader for multichannel customer engagement, actively advising leading companies on how to extend their brands across multiple channels for all users.
Tim Lamkins is a former optical engineer who became enamored with publishing. Tim runs SPIE’s highly successful event program, both online and offline. SPIE Press is the largest independent not-for-profit publisher of optics and photonics books.
Jaclyn is a Content Marketing Specialist at 3Play Media where she contributes to 3Play’s robust content library. Whether it’s a blog post, an email, a web page, or a webinar, she writes show people the value of accessibility in an engaging and approachable way. Outside of work, you’ll find her with my nose in a book, baking homemade treats, or hanging out with her bestie (aka her dog).
Samantha is a Content Marketing Specialist at 3Play Media. She writes about web and video accessibility. Sam is also passionate about psychology, branding, and media. Outside of the office, you can find her snuggled up with a book, experimenting with new food recipes, or pushing herself to try difficult yoga poses.
