Part 1: Create Your Translation Profile (Required)

Your translation profile provides important information that will help 3Play’s translation partners more accurately translate your content based on the provided context and desired tone.

Translation Profile Tips

  • You can create multiple translation profiles for different types of content that vary in context and tone.
  • Creating a new translation profile automatically makes it the default translation profile. Make sure you update to the correct default profile when creating new ones.
  • Not sure which vendor to choose? Read about our translation vendors – TransPerfect and Gengo – and their offerings from languages to turnaround options.

Step 3: Select a language from the list of available languages. Please note that only one language can be chosen at a time for an individual order.

Step 4: Click Next.

Step 5: Then, choose your translation vendor and click Next.

  • The default vendor you previously selected in your translation profile will be automatically selected.
  • If your default vendor choice doesn’t support the language you’ve selected or if you wish to change the vendor for any reason, you’ll need to choose another available vendor or select Machine translation.

Step 6: Select the correct translation profile for your order and click Next. Note: If you’d like to use your default translation profile, no need to make any changes here.

Step 7: Now, review your translation order. Did you select the correct language, vendor, and service level for your file?

Step 8: Last, check the box confirming the review is complete before placing your order.  Important: All translation orders are final.

Translation Ordering Tips

  • The translation order page contains an order summary, which shows the selected language, translation vendor, and estimated cost.
  • Before submitting your order, don’t forget to preview your selected translation profile and make any necessary changes.
  • Remember! All translation orders are final. Be sure to review carefully before submitting your order.

Part 3: How to Track and Access Translation Files

You’ve completed your translation order and now your translation order is in the works. Here’s how to track order progress and download your completed translation files.

3Play Media Email Notifications Setup Located in Profile Settings.

Turn on Email Notifications for Updates

Email notifications keep you updated on the progress of your translation order.

To choose your email preferences, click on your email in the upper right corner of your account and select Profile Settings. Then click Email Notifications.

  • Status Notifications notify you of any work that is completed, rejected, or encounters any other status event requiring your attention. Choose this if you want real-time updates on your file.
  • Completed Work Notifications notify you of all work that is completed at a frequency of your choosing. Get notified about completed work as often as once an hour to only once a day.

Download Completed Translation Files

It’s easy to access all of your completed translation orders on the My Files page and put your translated files into action.

To see if translation file is complete, there is a checkmark next to the file and Translation & Subtitling is listed below the file.

Step 1: Locate the file you’ve ordered translation for on the My Files page. You’ll instantly know if the translation order for that file is complete if there is a checkmark next to Subtitles & Translation.

Step 2: Click on the file name. A slide-out will appear for your file on the right side of your screen – it contains all of the details of that file.

Step 3: Preview your translation file by navigating to the language dropdown button, located just above the transcript. Select the language you need – you’ll see that the transcript immediately populates to show the new language.

Step 4: At this stage, you can edit your translations (if needed) by clicking on Edit just above the transcript.

Step 5: When you’re ready to download your file, click Download at the top of the slide-out.

Selecting the drop-down menu arrow will display your favorite formats from which you can select then and there – no need to leave the My Files page. Don’t see the format you need? Clicking the Download button will bring you to a new page with all of the formats available for download.

Note: You can download as many formats and times as you need!
