Session Information

As always, 3Play’s annual digital accessibility legal update with Lainey Feingold will offer an up-to-date overview of what is happening in the digital accessibility legal space in the United States as 2025 draws to a close.

This has been a hard year for the overlapping communities of accessibility practitioners and disabled people. This session will take a candid look at digital accessibility legal developments over the past year, and what we can expect as the new year unfolds.

Digital accessibility remains a civil right of people with disabilities in the United States.  The long-standing legal framework protecting that right is not easily dismantled, even at the federal level. An increasing number of state and local governments have laws and policies supporting digital accessibility that are not impacted by who holds national office. And disability advocates, civil rights lawyers and others continue to enforce the law in the face of attacks on federal agencies that historically have helped with that enforcement.

In this session we’ll be honest about digital accessibility legal setbacks and will find hope in both positive developments and in community.
