What Is Transcript Alignment?
If you already have transcripts for your videos, transcript alignment is the fastest and least expensive way to create captions and use interactive video plugins.
How it Works
Simply upload your video/audio files along with their transcripts and we’ll synchronize the text with the media using automated speech technology. This will give you access to all of the products and services that come with our standard transcription and captioning service. That means you’ll be able to download captions in a variety of formats, create translations and multilingual subtitles, and use the interactive transcript and captions plugin. You’ll also be able to use the video search and clipping tools, captions and subtitles editor, and other tools and features available through your account.
Ease of Use
You can upload your files through your secure account (HTTPS), via FTP, or by pasting links. You can also upload files over the API or import directly from a video platform or lecture capture system. The 3Play Media system supports hundreds of media formats, including most web video and audio formats. You can monitor the status of your files from your account.
Turnaround for transcript alignment depends on the duration of your files and our capacity at the time of upload. Files are usually completed within a few hours and almost always by the next business day.
Transcript alignment works with videos in the following languages:
- English (US)
- English (GB)
- French (France)
- French (Canada)
- Spanish (Spain)
- Spanish (Latin America)
- Portuguese (Portugal)
- Portuguese (Brazil)
- English (AU)
Our competitive prices are based on the exact duration of each file. You are charged on a pay-per-use basis and there are no minimums or hidden charges. You can either pay by credit card or we can invoice you.
Transcript Sync Accuracy
The transcript alignment process attempts to synchronize every word in your transcript with the video/audio file. Although the sync is normally very accurate, there are several factors that can help ensure high quality. The most important factor is the fidelity of the transcript. A high quality verbatim transcript works best. The audio difficulty can also affect the synchronization.
