VP of Sales (Sales)

About the Job

We are looking for a dynamic, thoughtful, successful, driven VP of Sales to lead and continue to build our sales team. With 2,500 customers and growing, we have aggressive plans for continued expansion. We are looking for an experienced leader to help us become a world class sales organization by executing on the strategic direction of the company and exceeding targets. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a track record of success as part of a growing, industry leading technology sales teams. The VP of Sales will report directly to the CEO.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Hire, inspire, mentor, train and grow our sales team
  • Design and execute our sales strategy to close and expand new business opportunities
  • Understand and translate the company’s business goals into strategic sales initiatives, goals, campaigns, and training
  • Work closely with the marketing team to drive lead flow and convert into qualified opportunities
  • Monitor and track team and individual performance to identify areas of strength and opportunities for growth
  • Coach direct reports and provide critical feedback regarding sales strategies and tactics for continuous improvement
  • Create, track, analyze, manage, and communicate sales forecasts and results
  • Continuously seek out new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with peers and senior executives on sales goals, market trends, and new product requirements
  • Identify and implement new sales tools and competencies
  • Provide strategic sales leadership to ensure profitable revenue growth and increased market share
  • Negotiate deals that have a high impact on revenue growth, brand and long-term strategic value
  • Engage with marketing, operations, and engineering to accomplish key goals

Position Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of successful selling and/or managing experience and 2 years in a Director role
  • Bachelor’s degree and formal sales training preferred
  • Proven track record of consistently excelling at what you do
  • Strong problem solving and excellent communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and process driven
  • Experience hiring, building, developing, and growing an elite sales team that outperforms and consistently hits targets in a high-growth environment
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with enthusiasm, curiosity, integrity, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to make decisions, provide advice, and explain the rationale related to complex matters
  • Adept at building strong relationships with team members

We got our start in 2008 out of MIT Sloan and we are based in Boston, MA.
