Account System Expand All

+What features does the user account system provide?

Your user account lets you upload and manage files, monitor job status, output transcript, caption, and translated subtitle files, edit your captions and subtitles after they have been processed, publish an interactive transcript, and use video search tools. See additional information about the user account system.

+For how long will you store my captions and transcript files?

Unless you instruct us otherwise, we will store your transcripts, closed captions, and subtitles indefinitely. This is important for a few reasons. First, it provides a back up. Second, it allows you to download any output formats at a later time. When new formats emerge, you will be able to retroactively download them for all of your files. Third, it gives you the ability to publish an interactive transcript or make use of our video search and SEO tools at a later time. There are no additional fees for this service. Of course, if you would like us to permanently delete your files, we can do that as well.

+For how long will you store my video and audio files?

Our policy is to delete your video/audio files after 180 days, unless you tell us otherwise. Your video/audio files are primarily needed for the transcription/captioning process. They are also necessary for Clipmaker and helpful if you need to edit your files after they have been processed. However, after 180 days most customers do not use or need the video/audio files. Please let us know if you would like to extend this period.

+How can I add users?

Your account has a lot of flexibility around user management and billing. Users can have different permissions and separate access to content.  Navigate to Account > Manage Users to invite additional users to the account.

+How can I submit additional instructions or special vocabulary when I upload a file?

It’s easy to upload a cheat sheet with specialized vocabulary, acronyms, names, or places. This helps our transcriptionists to decipher the spoken words.
