Our unique captioning and transcription process—covered by 8 U.S. patents (granted or pending)–combines automatic speech recognition technology with human editing. Although speech recognition by itself is insufficient, it provides a valuable starting point, and is especially useful in creating accurate timings, even if the words are incorrect.
Typically, three-quarters of the work is done by a computer and the rest by a professionally-certified transcriptionist. This approach affords our transcriptionists the flexibility to spend more time on the finer details. They are editors, not just typists.
