Financial Controller (Admin)

3Play Media is looking for an experienced financial controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Financial controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management.
The ideal candidate will be excited by the prospect of working in a fast paced, high growth environment with a start-up culture. Successful incumbents will be open to performing and evaluating all finance related tasks and processes.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting operations including but not limited to billing, collections, and payables
- Prepare annual budget and quarterly financial forecasts and report variances
- Manage and assist with the month end and year end close process
- Prepare monthly closing entries and reconciliations
- Compile, review, and analyze monthly financial statements
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Coordinate and assist with the annual financial statement audit, 409A valuation, and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Identify and report on key metrics for the company (KPI’s)
- Perform deep dive on margin drivers and identify ways to improve metrics
- Develop and maintain board packages
- Act as Finance liaison for all departments
- Perform ad hoc analyses for executive team and board members
- Mentor and supervise Finance Specialist
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- Proven working experience as a financial controller
- 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA or CMA preferred
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with preparing financial statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
- Excellent accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks) user and administration skills
